The ultimate griller’s steak – the New York strip – just got upgraded with a delicious maple bourbon glaze. This tangy and slightly sweet glaze with a hint of bourbon complements the bold, rich flavors of an Omaha Steaks New York strip steak.
How to Glaze a Steak
It only takes a few minutes to prepare the maple bourbon glaze. Simply boil the water and sugar in a small saucepan until it begins to caramelize, remove from heat, and add the rest of the ingredients to finish the glaze. The glaze should be thick and will take less than 10 minutes to prepare.
How to Grill the New York Strip Steak
Grill your steak to your desired doneness before glazing for best results and flavor. Follow these instructions to grill a perfect New York Strip. Brush the glaze to both sides of the steak and quickly sear over the hot grill for an incredible crust and to lock in the savory flavors of the glaze.
Always rest your steak with tented foil 5-10 minutes after grilling to allow the juices to redistribute. This ensures every bite of steak is juicy and tender. Serve the steak with the remaining glaze (if desired), your favorite red wine, and an Omaha Steaks signature steakhouse side dish for a perfect steak dinner.
Enjoy!
