Tools You’ll Need Before You Start
- Small mixing bowl
- 10-inch cast iron pan
- Spatula
How to Make a Breakfast Burger
Grab a cup of coffee and light up the grill for an epic breakfast experience.
1. Whisk Up Your Parmesan Mayo
Add delectable flavor to your burger with a decadent and creamy Parmesan mayo. Combine mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, black pepper, and salt into a small mixing bowl and whisk until well incorporated. Set aside and grill up the rest of the burger ingredients.
2. Cook Up the Breakfast Fare
A traditional breakfast spread, and a juicy burger sandwiched between two buns? Yes please! Cook the breakfast ingredients: Duroc Colossal Cut Bacon, cheesy Steakhouse Hash Browns, and fried egg on a 350-degree F preheated grill in a cast iron skillet.
3. Grill the Main Attraction – the Burger
Omaha Steaks super-juicy PureGround Sirloin Burger with bold, beefy flavor pairs expertly with this continental feast. Season your thawed burger with salt and pepper and grill the burger on high, direct heat to your desired doneness. Add a slice of American cheese in the last 30 seconds of grilling time.
Chef Tip: Alternately, craft your burger patties using Omaha Steaks Ultra-Premium Ground Beef with an 80/20 fat ratio and bold flavor. Form ½ lb. patties and make a dimple in the center of the burger (this will reduce the shrinkage of the patty as it cooks).
4. Build Your A.M. Breakfast Burger
Add Parmesan mayo to your buns and lightly toast on the grill. Then, add your grilled burger and top with traditional breakfast deliciousness – fried over-easy eggs, cheesy hash browns, American cheese, and thick-cut bacon. Hold this massive breakfast burger together with a toasted sesame seed bun.
A.M. Burger
Ingredients
Parmesan Mayo
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 1/3 cup freshly shaved Parmesan cheese
- ¼ tsp. black pepper
- Kosher salt
Bacon
- 2 strips Omaha Steaks Colossal Cut Bacon cut in half
Cheesy Hash Browns
- 2 Omaha Steaks Steakhouse Hash Browns
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 slices American cheese
Fried Eggs
- 2 large eggs
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
Cheeseburger
- 2 6 oz. Omaha Steaks PureGround® Sirloin Burgers or 1 lb. Omaha Steaks Ground Beef
- 2 slices American cheese
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Toasted Bun
- 2 sesame seed buns
- 2 tsp. Parmesan Pepper Mayo
Instructions
Parmesan Pepper Mayo
- Add mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, and black pepper into a small mixing bowl and whisk until well incorporated. Season to taste with salt.
Bacon
- Preheat grill to 350 degrees F using direct heat. Set a 10-inch cast iron pan over the heat and place 4 halves of bacon strips in the pan. Fry about 6 to 7 minutes on both sides until fully cooked to desired doneness, being careful not to burn.
Cheesy Hash Browns
- Thaw hash browns in refrigerator for 2 hours. Preheat grill to 350 degrees F using direct heat. In a 10-inch cast iron pan, add vegetable oil and place on grill.
- Once oil begins to shimmer, pan fry hash browns on both sides until golden brown, about 3 minutes on each side; closing grill lid after flipping each time. Once hash browns are golden brown on both sides, place one slice of American cheese on each hash brown to melt, about 30 seconds.
Fried Eggs
- Preheat grill to 350 degrees F using direct heat. In a 10” cast iron pan, add vegetable oil and oil and place on grill.
- Once oil begins to shimmer, fry egg for 30 to 40 seconds, lightly seasoning salt and pepper on one side, then flip and fry another 30 seconds for runny yolk. For fully cooked egg, cook an additional 15 to 20 seconds on each side.
Cheeseburger
- Preheat grill to 450 degrees F using direct heat.
- Divide ground beef in half and form two ½-lb. patties, each about ½-inch thick. Using your thumb, make a dimple in the center of the patty; this will help the burger shrink less and cook more evenly. (Skip this step if using PureGround™Sirloin Burgers).
- Season both sides of burger with salt and pepper.
- Place burgers on grill and cook 4 to 5 minutes per side for medium doneness; grill longer, if desired, for further doneness.
- Add one slice of American cheese on top of each burger, close grill lid, and cook for about 30 more seconds to melt cheese. Remove patties from grill to clean plate.
Toasted Bun
- While burgers are grilling, spread ½ t. of mayonnaise on each cut side of the bun. Place cut sides down on the grill grates. Toast about 20 to 30 seconds, or until buns are well toasted, being careful not to burn.
Assembly:
- Spread desired amount of Parmesan mayo on each toasted bun.
- Place cheeseburger on bottom bun and top with 2 bacon slices.
- Top each burger with a hash brown and top bun.
- *Add ketchup and/or mustard to burger, if desired.
