How to Cook the Perfect Steak
These steaks are sear roasted. This means you sear the potato chip encrusted steak in a hot skillet first for a great crust and then finish by roasting in the oven at 350F until internal temperature reaches your desired temperature and steak doneness. Make sure to rest your steak for 5-10 minutes after cooking to allow the juices to redistribute. The steak will be juicy and tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. Potato Chip Encrusted New York Strip Steak
Ingredients
- 4 8 Oz. New York Strips, thawed
- 1 c. potato chips crushed
- 1/4 c. steak sauce
- 4 T. oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350° F. Cover a baking sheet with foil and top with a metal baking rack. Set aside.
- Place crushed potato chips in a shallow baking dish. Coat each steak in steak sauce. Press all sides of the steak in crushed potato chips. Repeat with each steak.
- Preheat oil in a large skillet to medium. Place steaks in pan. Sauté each side of steak for 4 minutes or until chips are golden brown.
- Place steaks on prepared baking sheet. Place in preheated oven on center rack. Bake for 8-10 minutes for a medium rare steak or cook until your steak has reached desired temperature.
